Sustainability as a core value

 

Bridge and Blend scents are inspired from the Japanese famous “Tale of Genji “— taking place in an age free from synthetic perfumes— and therefor creates fragrance blends from 100% natural ingredients.

 

As our products are developed using natural resources borrowed from nature, we give back to the Earth by donating 1% of our sales to environmental protection through the organization 1% for the Planet, of which we are a business member.

This is our way of showing gratitude for nature’s blessings and supporting environmental conservation.

 

Always keeping sustainability in mind, we designed a reusable Anniversary Box for our brand’s one-year anniversary, so it could be repurposed at home.

Following the same principle, for our third anniversary release, we chose to use furoshiki as special wrapping, as it perfectly embodies the idea of sustainability.

We went through a trial-and-error process to find a wrapping solution that would suit the small size of our incense boxes.

 

When we discovered furoshiki, we felt it truly aligned with our values and brand image thanks to its reusable nature.

We were very satisfied with the service provided by Musubi. They introduced us to various furoshiki options and wrapping styles that suited our brand, and even sent us a tutorial video so we could replicate the wrapping techniques ourselves.

 

We received very positive feedback from customers who saw the photos on our online store—it seems that many people resonate with the idea of 'protecting the scent of Japan.

We were delighted to collaborate with Bridge and Blend on the ethical wrapping for their incense. In 2023, these incenses received the prestigious Omotenashi Selection award, with the international jury particularly impressed by their high quality and sustainability.

Since the incense comes in a relatively small box, we proposed and tested several wrapping techniques that would best suit the size and form.
We also carefully considered the size and placement of the embroidered logo to ensure it would appear beautifully when tied.

We were very pleased with the result, as the embroidery captured the logo with precision and elegance.

 

I am myself enjoying one of the healing fragrances inspired by the The Tale of Genji, burning an incense at bedtime for relaxation.
